Countering Fraud with Trusted Data: Coming Soon

The quality of pension fund data is often taken for granted, especially when day-to-day processes seem to be running smoothly.

Records can sit unchanged for years while people move home, change their details or simply lose touch. Over time, even well-maintained datasets can naturally decay.

Earlier this year, Target Professional Services worked with an LGPS pension fund on a large-scale data review project. Using both mortality screening and address tracing, the exercise looked at whether the information held by the fund still reflected members’ current circumstances.

This review gave the fund a chance to take a closer look at its member data. For many large pension funds, the challenge isn’t a lack of processes, but finding the time and resource to regularly maintain their records.

Target’s findings not only helped the fund build a clearer picture of the data it already had, but also brought to light records that may otherwise have been missed.

We’ll be publishing the full case study soon, and sharing more details about what the exercise uncovered.
