Pensions UK Annual Conference 2026

Target Professional Services travelled up the country to Liverpool this month for another front row space at the Pensions UK Annual Conference. As always, it was a busy few days for the Client Relationship team, seeing familiar face and making plenty of new connections.

A major part of the stand this year was our new brand video, which featured Andy and Jenny sharing their perspectives on some of the key challenges facing pension schemes today. One of the central themes was data quality, with a focus on how schemes can achieve 99% data accuracy and, just as importantly, maintain that standard over time to ensure their data remains reliable, actionable and fit for purpose.

The video also explored the importance of high-quality data when schemes are making strategic decisions. This included areas such as pension risk transfer and derisking projects, where accurate and complete member data is essential, as well as the preparation and planning required for pensions dashboards. The key takeaway was that data should not be viewed as a one-off exercise, it needs to be maintained so schemes can continue to trust and rely on it.

A new addition to the stand this year was an infographic showcasing Target’s fixed-price tracing model. While the infographic itself made its debut at the event, fixed-price tracing has been a core part of Target’s offering since 2019. The model provides clients with complete cost certainty from the outset, with no hidden extras, unexpected charges or variable fees.

Of course, the team couldn’t head to Liverpool without bringing along our popular Tinwood wine and Neck Oil beer. They were both well received, with more than a few attendees calling it the best beer in the room. For some of the team, it was also their first time at the conference, which came with another new experience of learning how to pour a pint – thankfully they’re much better at dealing with clients.

The days may have been long, but they were certainly worthwhile.

People Verified Data was a key part of Target’s messaging throughout the conference, and it was great to see that echoed in so many of the talks and conversations taking place across the event. It reinforced the growing recognition that trusted data is the foundation for better decision-making and better outcomes for schemes.

There isn’t much time to put suitcases away though. November is yet to be another busy month, with the team heading across the UK, from Torquay all the way up to Edinburgh.
