Target Joined by The Pension Protection Fund for 2024 Annual Beach Clean

Last week, Target Professional Services (UK) Ltd was joined by the Pension Protection Fund for our annual beach clean at our base on the South Coast. It was a fantastic day which started in the rain but the Selsey sunshine soon broke through. We found cable ties, plastics, fishing lines, cans, and bottle tops, to name a few, and logged all our findings for the Marine Conservation Society. In a brilliant turn of events, we had so many volunteers that we had to split up into two groups!

Our volunteers were then served lunch at the home of Full Up, Nutritious Meals For Kids, a community initiative first set up by Target Professional Services (UK) Ltd’s Managing Director Lisa Lyon to provide struggling families and children with free hot meals during the COVID lockdown. The charity has now grown into a community cafe that continues to supply free hot dinners to those in need. There were some delicious jacket potatoes all round!

We also heard from some of the young people the cafe employs how Full Up has supported them with mentorship and wider business skills.

Thank you to all of our volunteers from both Target and PPF! It was an incredible day celebrating our continuing work together by supporting our local communities and making progress toward our environmental and social governance goals.
