Target’s Clean Energy Commitment

Having been independently verified by FuturePlus as positively impacting all 17 SDGs since July 2025, including significant contributions to Goal 7, Affordable and Clean Energy, and Goal 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, Target have a core commitment to sustainability and clean energy.

As we continue to grow as a company, we’re focusing on practical steps that help reduce our environmental impact. All Target’s electricity comes from certified renewable resources, and we also generate our own solar power on‑site. This has helped us cut down our reliance on external energy sources and run our operations more efficiently.

Target’s on-site solar panels charge the batteries during the day, and whenever we produce more energy than we need, the surplus is sent back to the National Grid. Installed in 2023, Target have already produced more than 44 mWh of self-generated power, allowing one office to run 39% on solar energy and the other 32%.

Our 2025 results show the difference our investment in renewable infrastructure has made:

  • Target generated over 10,000 kWh of energy.
  • We exported more than 2,000 kWh of surplus energy back to the National Grid, with August 2025 alone accounting for 307.5 kWh of this excess energy.
  • Our site consumed over 8,600 kWh of completely clean, self-generated solar energy.

We’re working to expand our solar capacity over the next four years and have set up a Green Working Group since December 2025 to involve colleagues across the business in our sustainability goals and help bring new ideas forward.
